DESCRIPTION

Volunteering at Best Friends Animal Society is a wonderful way to model sharing and giving to young women. Best Friends is a positive force for ending pet homelessness across the country through its pet adoptions, spay/neuter clinics, and no-kill initiatives around the country. Its sanctuary in Kanab, Utah acts as a home-between-homes for some 1,600 dog, cats, bunnies, birds, pigs, horses and other animals, including some needing lifelong care. 

 

Time spent together in such fun and important work is a wonderful way to deepen relationships between generations. We have 3 full days of volunteering at the shelter. After an orientation, we will be assigned a balance of tasks, some may be in contact with animals and others involved with maintenance, service projects, educational talks, outings, and tours of animal areas.

 

NEWS FLASH! We have an option to take an animal from the shelter to the hotel for a sleepover!

Our hotel is located in the heart of Kanab, close to restaurants and shops. 

 

This group is limited to 20 guests. Hurry to save your spots. Things fill quickly with multiple travelers. Consider staying a few additional days to visit Zion National Park and this beautiful part of the country.

DETAILS

The nearest airports to Kanab are St. George, Utah and Las Vegas. You will pick up your rental car at your airport and make your own way to the hotel in Kanab. Arrangements can be adjusted for driving your own car. 
All rooms have 2 queen beds and are able to accommodate up to 4 people. 

For safety considerations, all children must be 6 or over for this adventure. For cat sleepovers all occupants of the room must be 6 or over, for dogs 10 or over. 

Each travel group must have one person who qualifies as a driver of the rental car. You Go Girls! will not provide any driving of guests.

Closed toe shoes are required for volunteering and no clogs.
